A Monkey & A Roly -Poly

So we are the proud parents of a monkey and a roly-poly. I am happy to say that Abby is officially rolling both ways. Front to back came quite early. She did that for the first time before she was even two months old. Last night (just barely before three months old) she decided it was time to roll the other way because she was obviously bored with the easy rolling way. Now she can roll over from back to tummy. And then today she was on her tummy and decided that she wants to scoot forward. I tried to explain to her that there is no rush in the crawling department, but she seems bent on mobility. I believe her actual crawling days are yet a few more months away, but if she follows her monkey brother in suit, then she should be fully mobile by 6 or 7 months old. It's amazing watching her develop. I thought that the second time around with kids would be less surprising. I find it just as amusing and fun the second time around.

Abigail: AKA...The Roly-Poly

Alexander: AKA...The Monkey
This was taken mere moments before he sliced his chin open.

Of course Alex is continuing to be quite the little dare devil. I fear that blood will be shed again before too long at the rate that he is going. I swear it is like raising a little chimpanzee. No place, even some of the baby-proofed areas, seem to be out of reach for him. If this says anything about how crazy he is, it says on the milestones for kids chart that only 25% of kids are able to jump with both feet off of the ground by the age of 24 months. Our little monkey has been doing this for at least 4 or 5 months already and he is only 21 months old right now. We have already had an emergency room visit for shed blood in the last month (standing in the bath tub with a basket on your head apparently isn't safe). Abby is probably going to be just as bad as Alex. But I hear that girls are a bit less crazy. Guess we'll see about that.
