Spring is on it's way!

I officially saw the first sign of spring yesterday. Oh sure, a 50 degree day every now and then is all well and good, but nothing says spring like robins. Yup. Yesterday there were a few fat robins hopping happily through my backyard. They were a welcome sight too. I know that it's not exactly a precise science trying to predict the coming of Spring with a few birds, but it's been something that I was taught from my mom. When you see your first robin, then winter is on it's way out and spring's on the way in. It wasn't exactly the warmest day of the month yesterday, but I still decided to herd the monkeys into the backyard to expel some of their infinite energy. It was nice to get outside and enjoy some good ol' vitamin D courtesy of the sun and some nice fresh air in eager lungs. The kids had a nice time despite the fact that they both sat in a puddle of melting ice and had an inch of mud on their shoes. Boy, I sure can't wait until the next 50 degree day. Then at least we won't have to worry about our playtime being restricted to, "When your cheeks get red, it's time to go inside."

Here are the kiddos enjoying the evening outside.
