Clock Watcher

Alex has become quite a little conversationalist lately. He's always telling some story about his day. He is also trying to have one on one conversations with me that end in him learning something new. I'm also noticing how hard he is trying at understanding things. For example, telling time. I look at the clock when he asks me if Dad is going to be home soon. After looking at the clock I tell him that he will be home at 4:00 (or whenever). He's starting to catch on to what the clock does I do believe. This is a conversation that I just had with Alex in the kitchen where there is no clock.

Alex: "Mom, will dad be home soon?"

Me: "Well, I think he should be home soon, buddy."

Alex: "Oh. I think dad will be home soon."

Me: "Okey dokey."

(Alex runs out to check the clock on the wall)

Alex: "Yeah mom. Dad will be home. It's fifty o'clock!"
