State Fair 2010

The State Fair has been an event that we have faithfully attended for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure I've missed a year in quite a long time. Heck, I even waddled along through the masses and heat when I was eight months pregnant with Alex. Was it miserable? Of course. I thought I would surely go into labor and be giving birth in the muck and mire of the cattle barn. Hmm, that actually might have been fitting somehow seeing as how I was roughly the size of a cow at the time. Nevertheless, we didn't fail in going again this year. Thank goodness the kiddos are at an age where they really enjoy things like this. They both walk and rarely complain (unless they're hungry of course). It was fun to have something to break up the monotony of late. And better yet, it's super cheap entertainment for all. There really isn't much to say about it other than we had one extra in our company this year. My brother Aaron actually went for a change. My folks went, as always. Really the only other thing to share are some photos and a fun video of Josh doing the Army rock wall challenge. I must say...I was slightly impressed with my hubby's skills. He still surprises me after 10 years. Enjoy!

The petting zoo was a major hit with my animal lover daughter. I had to practically drag her out.

They had a Little Tikes driving school set up for kids and Alex was in his true element here.

The greatest part was that they had a drawing for all of the toys later that day. Guess who won a Little Tikes tricycle? Alex! He was disappointed that he didn't win this firetruck, but he's in love with his new 'indoor' riding toy. He takes it everywhere. I couldn't believe it when they announced his name over the intercom. Not quite four-years old yet and already luckier than his mama.

The Ag building always has fun places for kids to play. I couldn't convince Abby to do this but Alex was game.

There are so many things for the kids to check out like this that they don't get to play on every day.

Funny thing about this picture of Alex is that we got the same photo last year. I want to get a picture like this every year to compare how he grows. Click here to see last year's photo.

Abby in the firetruck.

Uncle Aaron took Alex to see all of the Cat machines. That kid loves Cat machines.

Go muscle man, go!
