Sorry folks, but I'm fresh out of ideas for Funday Sunday this week. I will have to dig a little deeper if I'm going to keep up with that theme. So until then I've got some pictures from my dad's birthday. It wasn't exactly a party, but we had a good time with cake, ice cream (soy for my wee ones), and a few people to celebrate it with. My mom made some pizza for everyone, but seeing as how it was the exact opposite of milk-free, we sat that out and ate dinner at home before we went over. I was on cake duty so I made a tasty chocolate cake. As you can see, the kiddos were perfectly happy to enjoy their fair share of it. But then again, who doesn't enjoy a plate of pure sugar?
Abby was just thrilled to get to spend a little extra time with Grandpa. She sure loves her Grandpa!
On the complete opposite side of the spectrum was uncle Josh. He came over too and Abby had a bit of an issue with him. She wailed and sobbed every time she was near him for the majority of the time. For some odd reason, Abby has a horrible fear of just about any grown man other than Daddy or Grandpa. I think she'll outgrow that just like Alex did around her age. So hold on for just another year uncle Josh and uncle Aaron. She'll come around. But we have proof that she did start to warm up to him by evening's end. See? She's in the same room with him and not screaming.
Of course, that was as close to him as she would get. Alex, on the other hand, was more than thrilled to have another buddy to play with him while he was there. He stayed busy handing Josh just about anything he could find and had a merry ol' time.
Aaron was there to celebrate as well and seeing as how I never get a good picture of my mom, here they both are.
We all had fun. Last year we got to have my Aunt Rhonnie there as well, but she's away on business and couldn't make it this year. Don't worry Aunt Rhonnie...I ate your piece of cake for you. :-) It was really good. (he he he) Seriously though, we wish you could have been there. Once the kiddos were dosed up on massive amounts of sugar and ready to climb the walls, we headed home. But of course, we got a nice family photo first. The best one is at the beginning of this posting. For some reason, I enjoy the 'make a silly face' photos more than the 'smile for the camera' photos. But here's the normal one just for good measure. I hope everyone else had a great weekend too!
