Done
Day number 18 was a hit. I'm so happy that Alex and Abby got to go to my folks' house today. They had a blast and I think so did my parents. It was nice to get out with Josh without the kids for awhile. It was so...well...quiet. Honestly, a little too quiet. I think now that we are nearing the two month marker for unemployment, spending time alone together didn't have the same effect it normally would have. Normally when we go out together we chat it up. Or at the very least, I chat it up while Josh smiles and nods. But today, we just sort of sat there and soaked in the silence. But while soaking up some silence, we accomplished the Christmas shopping. I'm happy to say that we found plenty of things to make for a merry Christmas morning for the kiddos. I'd like to take a moment to thank the Dollar General, for without which, we wouldn't have found some of the most awesome toys for next to nothing price tags. Yay for cheap stores! Anyhow, I'm just glad that I never caught the big bad bug this week so that we could have a super awesome day number 18. Now I just can't wait to see the kids' faces when they wake up on Christmas morning. It's one of those things about having children that makes you love being a parent. It makes me realize now why my parents never cared what they got for Christmas or if they got anything at all. It just made them happy to see us happy. Thanks mom and dad. Now I get it. The happiness of your children really is the greatest gift you receive.
