Merry Christmas Eve, Everyone!

Tradition in our family has always been to spend Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the family. Over the years, that tradition has started to slip away. I miss seeing all of my cousins, aunts, uncle (because I only have one on that side), Granny and everyone in between. I was excited because this year we were going to hold to that tradition. But because my Granny has been in the hospital recently and with a ton of kids going to be there, it was decided that it be best if we didn't come if there was a chance at all of being still contagious from the big bad stomach bug. I hope they all had a fun (and ate all the cookies and pretzels I sent with my folks). I miss them all and am hoping to try again next year. But you know what? It's okay. We had a great time today preparing for the big Eve of Christmas. We didn't have a fancy dinner, (mmm...hot dogs and chili. Hello heartburn.) but we had fun. Alex and Abby exchanged Christmas presents to each other (just one). We exchanged presents with Wesley and Greta and got the cookies and milk ready for Santa Claus and carrots and water for the reindeer. Because reindeer need a snack too, ya know? The kiddos were so excited when they went to bed that I have a bad feeling my morning will start before the sun comes up. As for me? I have my work cut out for me to make sure Santa has everything he needs for the big night. I am, after all, one of his helpers from time to time. So come on over Santa. The cookies are waiting. From all of us here at the Lemonade Stand, Merry Christmas and God bless you all!

Merry Christmas from the five cats at the Lemonade Stand!

Alex and Abby are a little excited. Can you tell?

Smile for the camera and show me your presents!

The live nativity scene at the church across the street. Tis the reason for the season.

Merry Christmas! Like the reindeer carrots idea. The live nativity scene looks great. Mom, sis and I went to a candle light service this evening, it really put me in the spirit of it all.
