Predictive Blogging
I normally do my blogging at night when the house is peaceful and quiet because the kiddos are tucked away sweetly in their beds. But if I'm going to meet my blogging goal of thirty days then I better get it done early today. I guess you could call this predictive blogging. I predict that by tonight, I will be making good friends with my old pal Mr. Toilet. Today, *sigh* Alex caught Abby's stomach virus. He seemed okay for the morning, but when he refused to eat chips with his single piece of toast for lunch, I knew that something wasn't right. We were all sitting on the couch watching Snow Dogs on TV (a rare moment. Commercials and all.) when Alex started crying. I asked him if his tummy hurt. He lied and said no leaving me with zero chance to get him to the bathroom or go and get a bucket. I saw 'the look' on his face. You know the one. Panic with a side of nausea. I screamed to Josh to get a bucket. Josh practically supermans over the couch into the kitchen for my trusty plastic mixing bowl. No worries, I sanitize before baking with it. ;-) Before I could blink, Alex went all Linda Blair on me. Literally. On me. On my hair, my face, down my shirt, on my shirt, on my pants...you get the idea. As I sat there holding my sick child, I felt the vomit dripping down my face and thought to myself, "Wow. Motherhood is awesome." Abby got scared and ran into her bedroom and put herself down for a nap and Alex shortly followed her after bathing. That was two hours ago and they are both still sleeping. So as I stood in the shower washing the gross off of me, I tried to calculate how long it would be before I am sharing their same fate. Yuck. Anyone want to trade places with me? I am not in the mood for a night of passionate porcelain bonding. I say passionate because I don't even hug my husband as close as I hug a toilet when I am sick. Oh well. One good thing about this is that I don't have to worry about getting this little stomach bug again for awhile. And perhaps this means we get the pleasure of being well for Christmas. Predictive blogging complete. Wish me luck.
